[ Travelogue ] Enjoying Three Nite Camp at Ciremai Mountain 3.078mdpl, Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia!

Peak of Mount Ciremai 3.078mdpl

On this gloomy morning, I decide to write down my latest travel experience to Mt. Ciremai, Kuningan, West Java. About this month, after almost six months stay at home and work from home, I took three days off to have some personal space and blend with nature. I acknowledged that I take risks by going outside and meet other people but I try to applied all the health protocols to keep my self protected. The rest, I pray. I can say, it is somewhat akward when you are trying hard to applied all the health protocols to be safe outside while people you have met in the journey, were treat this pandemi like nothing. Honestly, when I plan this trip, I highly doubt on what kind of public transport that can help to arrive at Kuningan. I look for the safer transportation, unfortunately I have no options beside the bus. There were only few options to go there at that time and with full of courages, I took the bus from Baranang Siang Bus Station.

This journey start from Bogor, West Java, my hometown. It needs around 30 to 40 minutes from my home to the bus station, and I took regular public transport called ‘angkot’ (angkutan kota). No wonder if you were told about stories that mentioned Bogor is city of the thousands “angkot” instead of the rain city, just because the fact is true that my hometown have many routes of public transport with high volume vehicles. As a result, you can find regular phenomenon along the road, veey well-known as “Ngetem” (when the public transport stop to wait and search the passengers) in some areas in Bogor. This not just occured after the ride-hailing era is rising but years years before. Although, my hometown has many excited natural beauty that even me, have not explore all of them. And I love my hometown very much however I still search for the opportunity to live somewhere…someplace which no one recognize me. Oh, well!

Back to the story, after long decision to take the bus or train, I took the bus and ask the driver to drop me off at Cilimus area. The driver said yes and feel lucky because I find the first bus on that day. There were options, but it said the bus will depart at evening and I am avoiding travel at night by bus. I feel unconfortable with that. I often check the map right after the bus passed Cileunyi highway to make sure that I am on the right track to Cilimus, Kuningan. Poor me! The bus not drive me to Cilimus and drop me off at outgate Ciperna highway. And it suddenly someone, a bike driver (read: ojek) that directly took my carrier and put it on his motorcycle. I thought it will be close but I ended up rode the journey to Cilimus, with babang ojek that allegedly trying to hijack the passenger. Fiuh. What a day!

I still grateful since there were traffic congestion along the way from Cirebon to Cilimus. The drawback is the price that I need to pay for ojek is too way pricey. Well…

Enjoy the video before I finish my story :)
